Easternwell has signed a contract with Tri-Star Petroleum to provide drilling and camp management services in Queensland’s gas fields.
The contract involves a multi-well deep exploration campaign in Bauhinia Shire in the Bowen Basin using Easternwell’s Rig 106.
With a mast capacity of 750,000 pounds, 1,600-barrel mud system and three 1,600 horsepower mud pumps, the rig’s capability extends from drilling deep, high pressure, high temperature tight gas holes, to plug and abandonment campaigns.
Easternwell General Manager Kyle Koziol said: “We are pleased to be working with Tri-Star Petroleum who has significant operating tenures in key regions of Queensland and the Northern Territory.”
“The technology of the rig sets it apart from other drilling rigs with enhanced mobility, unparalleled control, drilling hydraulics, enhanced safety and environmental features.”
“The rig is automated to improve efficiency and reduce risk exposure for the drilling crew. The automated system includes the iron roughneck, mechanical derrickman, automated catwalk, slips and elevators.”
Easternwell’s Rig 106 has previously drilled deep wells in the Cooper and Surat Basins.
