Hip Pocket Workwear and Safety Demonstrations

During the 2019 South Queensland Energy and Resources Expo, Hip Pocket Workwear and Safety will hold three demonstrations per day. 

Wednesday 16th October

Session 1:

Time: 10:00am

Title: New Glove Cut Test Standards

Go over the new EN388 cut test standard that has changed, this is a big change in the way gloves are tested for cut resistance and the way the results are displayed, there has been a lot of confusion in the market around this and this will help clear it up.

Session 2:

Title: Thorzt Hydration

50% to 60% of the industrial workforce start the day in a mildly-dehydrated state, every day. Mild dehydration is 1-4% of body fluid loss. At 3%, reaction time is delayed, and cognitive ability is compromised, similar to the effects of a blood alcohol reading of 0.08.

Fit testing of dust masks has been very much in the spotlight over the past 6 months with a number of deaths from silicosis, there is a lot of misunderstanding about who and what type of fit testing needs to be done, we will go over the most popular method for fit testing and the importance of it!
